When Jin noticed the first time it was by accident. Koki was in a clingy mood and with neither Kame or Maru around he had chosen Junno as his cuddle partner. Junno would never reject Koki's love and therefore didn't mind being a replacement – or in his case, a replacement's replacement.
Jin thought seeing tiny Koki with his arms wrapped around tall Junno's waist was funny, which caused him to laugh at the view and so he seemingly encouraged Koki to hurt his human teddy bear. He started squeezing Junno tighter and tighter, forcing a pained yelp out of him that turned into a laugh.
